Product Funnel Resources

The Four biggest areas of your Product Funnel that are causing your products not to be profitable running ads.

Conveying Enough Value

AOV is not high enough

Let's be really honest here. You could be the greatest media buyer on planet Earth and if your product and or your funnel aren't dialed in you will never get ads to work profitably.

For this resource guide, we're going to assume you have followed our best practices for creating a winning product and that your product is really good.

If you don't think your product is amazing neither will your prospective buyers.

Let's tackle each of the above.

1. Product Price

Our MSRPs are pretty spot-on in the middle of where our products thrive on the market.

However, we have profitably sold our message card line anywhere from $39.95 all the way up to $89.95.

If you are going to try and sell for $39.95 and compete in ads you MUST recoup some of that revenue through a charge of $5.95 shipping at checkout AND put each buyer through a full Upsell/Cross-sell sequence.

We talk about what to sell in your upsell sequence below.

I would highly recommend starting your price testing on either end of the extreme. This means, either picking the low end around $40 for the Two-Toned Standard Box, or the High End of $69.95 for the Two-Toned Box.

Then run some traffic through it. If you are receiving good CTRs (above 1%) and no add-to-carts, then your price is probably too high.

If you are getting good add-to carts and decent purchases, but your CPA is too high then you have not built in shipping or appropriate upsells.

2. Page Speed

Check your page speed here: https://gtmetrix.com/

  • If your load speed is under 3 seconds you are good to go.
  • Above it, you need to dive into the reasoning and potentially either switch product templates or hire a developer to optimize the page.

3. Conveying Enough Value

This is focusing on your product description. I would always update the main product description to increase the perceived value of the product I am trying to sell.

4. AOV is not High Enough

You've been playing around with your main product's pricing and now you are close to break-even on ad creatives and targeting and now it's time to get into profit.

  • Don't just sell one item.
  • Don't offer free shipping.
  • Do charge up to $5.95 for shipping
  • Do offer upsells.
  • Do offer Package Protection

For our Internal Brands, we have package protection active for every product and we create a full upsell sequence after we have potential in every product we test.
